Our '76 3.0Si that sat for many years has a fuel gauge sensor that is all rusted out. The part number is: 62 16 1 354 264

According to the parts sites, it's the same from '73 or later E3.

Anyone got one lying around in working order?

thank you

There's an Ebay listing that's been there for a while for one, or two, Si's. It reads as if he is willing to sell off individual parts. Have you tried him? If you do contact the seller could you post what he says about that?

Two versions for our cars, one for sale on Ebay is not the one you need but I think, the longer version. So perhaps if the "guts" of yours is intact and only the shell rusted, you can modify the one on Ebay which is going for less than 40 bucks (started at 175 a year ago).

I had been looking for one for almost two years and they are quite hard to find. You may also try O2 salvage in Ca who specializes in used parts for the 70's BMW's. Good luck
