When I first started my restoration I wanted to do the 5-speed conversion so I bought an '85 633 CSI as a parts donor, thinking I would swap the engine and tranny, well, luckily the car came with a spare Getrag 265 5-speed, The engine is running but had 185K on the clock so I stuck with my 93K original carbureted engine and used the spare tranny and all is well. I tried to sell the car but no luck, so I am dismantling little things as I need them.
Not a good investment- here is what I found to be interchangeable;
The electric window switches- look different but work the same.
Get this- the rear ashtray is identical to the one in my '74, I actually needed one since the plastic grab broke on mine.
I am going to look at the door brakes, and as I dismantle I'll post any other things that I find.
I'm just thinking these parts may be a little easier to locate than some of the obscure e9 parts.
If anyone knows of any other parts that are interchangeable from this series please chime in, also, if anyone needs any parts that they know will work send me a note..
