I am finally in the process of restoring the interior of my E9. I have removed the door panels and the black and chrome interior "door tops" that hold the door wood in place. It's the rear set of these that is being stubborn to remove. Of course, I have removed the small screws but they seem to be still attached somehow. Should I place a block of wood on the bottom edge and tap it loose with a hammer? Am I missing further attach points?

Thank You,

Pat

there might be a screw in the door jam also. If all screws are out, then yes lightly tap it up, it fits snug on the body.

Pat,

The interior chrome piece ('J' shaped) has one screw in the very front (the screw head faces forward), plus a few small screws in the black plate just below the wood. It should lift up in front and then rotate it up and pull forward/out from the 'C' pillar. Be careful not to damage the 'C' pillar lining. I would not tap the wood to push it up - maybe the bottom of the black metal edge instead?

good luck,
