Greetings, folks.

So this past weekend I stumbled upon, of all things, an E9 in a local junkyard. I'm an E28/E30 guy, but I wanted to register and post to see if there were any parts that would be worth saving for the community. All the lights/lenses are gone, roundels, and the interior is very beat up from not having any glass in the car in some time. M30 is still there (mostly), but I'm not sure if it's anything special. Any way to tell what this car was? I didn't see a VIN anywhere.

I see

sun visors that I could use :-) and it looks like there is a condensor up front, so maybe there are some A/C brackets/evap-other than that it's a crying shame!
 
Is that a rear bumper inside?I'm interested if so.Thanks Tim
PS where are you located?
 
Pretty picked over. Can you check the differential to see if it is limited slip?

Sometimes the vin is on the steering column. Also under the hood on the passenger side near the piece of grill in one of your photos

Take this windshield wipers. The whole thing down the the mechanism

Anything in the trunk?

Are you taking reqests for parts? If so, I need the metal spark plug wire tube that extends along the right side of the head. Just pulling off the wires + tube + attaching hardware is probably simplest.

I don't need them myself, but there might be some demand for the white nylon sockets that hold the relays near the battery box. People use these to add a relay for the low beams. You can just clip the wires, so these parts are easy to harvest. Looks like someone already snagged the cylindrical relays.
 
Although it's an involved removal. The rear window cassettes may be worth saving. The pain is the windows have to be rolled down to remove. Takes a while to do it by hand.
 
Windshield defrost vents

If the dash is out these are simple to remove. They are very hard to get and I remember I was one of many looking for these. I recently found them after months of looking. Rear mirror might be with saving.

No, I'm fairly certain it's the dashboard that you're seeing.

Diff is on my list to grab, is it worth it if it's not a LSD? I'd rather not have another diff kicking around in my garage. I've read some posts the ratio is stamped on the rear passenger side of the housing. I'll check for the VIN. Nothing in the trunk.

I can probably grab those items. And yes, I'd like to go back Friday or Saturday if I have time to get some other items from some the e28 that's out there.

The motor off that windshield wiper fluid tank might be work a few bucks to someone. Might grab the section of the wiring harness where the relays are in the engine bay, be sure to include all the plastic female connections.

I also want to say that I'm not looking to make a quick buck off this, I just know these cars are not common and if I could help out a fellow enthusiast or two with a couple parts I'd be happy.
 
If intact: visor clips, a chrome hood grille, turn signal and high beam switches from the column, console panel around radio if unmolested, trunk lid, C pillar roundels.

The differential may/not have ratio stamps you can find. Sometimes there is a white "S" painted on the diff to indicate limited slip. If not, an open diff is not likely worth taking. A five speed trans would be worth removing.
 
Need passenger door glass, tan driver's door card, also maybe dead window motor for white gear, dead halfshaft for one end.

Noted, thanks. C-pillar roundels are gone and pretty sure the radio surround is damaged. Car is an auto, unfortunately.

Interior is really rough, so most likely door card won't be of much use. I'll see what I can do on the others, though.
 
Going back tomorrow morning, anyone else need anything off the car? I'll try to take some pics with my phone, upload them, go pull some things off other cars and check back for any responses.
