Their carpet sale is ending soon and they have presented me with a great deal of 594 euros with S and H for two tone carpet and trunk liner. Since I am paying 90 euros for shipping and need a headliner, I am contemplating adding this on. We have discussed their (new) headliner before but nothing definite has been stated wrt originality and quality. Before I place my order, any headliner experience by anyone?

This is the sample pic posted by @Marco 54.
Hopefully some can critique this sample in comparison to what’s available from other sources

Any idea if they will make a black one?
Or for that matter any idea where to get a high quality black headliner?

I have sent photos of the black headliner to KHM for their information.
I think they would be keen to supply black headliner but the original black material has the same type of pattern that Chris's excellent photos (above) of the original white headliner show.

It is clear that the current KHM white headliner does not have the complex pattern of the original.

It all begs the question as to why BMW chose the original pattern in the first place. It's was nothing special, but now it is cause you can't find it!

SMS FABRICS IN OREGON
they remake the exact headliner for your car the csl in black
they made it years ago it was there first one
now they also make it in white
its is "exactly " like the oem only a bit thicker
so you need to thin the edge where it contacts the inside chrome trim
trust me on this as ive installed in my car and posted installation pics
as a reference ok cheap too 60 bucks

SMS website does not have BMW in their drop down menu. You recall a number, description or other identifier? Tx

Members may recall that Keshav and I approached KHM with regard to a discounted price on carpet sets to Members over the winter months (Dec, Jan, Feb).

Following our initial contact we were also informed of the availability of white headliner. We asked about the availability of the black CSL headliner and we sent photos to KHM.
The sample KHM subsequently sent has met with a little disappointment, as it has none of the surface texture of the original.

However we have just received an e-mail message from KHM in response.
The reply included the following comment that will be of interest to Forum members -

"Regarding headliner please forget the sample we sent, we have obtained a much better match to the original.
Perforation will be similar, but surface will be much closer to the original, with a slight linear textile structure.
This is in order already from the manufacturer and will be available around May 2019."

Best regards

We have asked for samples in due course and we will post here when we hear from KHM.
I will post separately about KHM carpet sets.

As ever my thanks to Keshav for his advice and guidance.
