La Jolla Lowering Spring Set - GROUP BUY COMPLETED

I was on the waitlist for the Carl Nelson Lowering Spring Set and was informed that they now require pre-payment. I inquired about a 'group buy' and was told this was a possibility. Anybody interested?

This was what sold me on them!

**UPDATE OCT 6 2011**

Ben ([email protected]) at La Jolla would like a list tomorrow and it looks like there's three of us. He mentioned that this maybe the 'last of the production runs" due to low interest.

Based on these numbers, they are offering the spring set SHIPPED (Cont. US only) for $335 from regular price of $400.

In addition to the springs, you may be interested in purchasing other associated parts from them. These prices are 'negotiable' based on how much you purchase.

E9 Suspension Price List
Item Price
1 Springs $400.00
2 Bilstein HD Front (pair) $290.00
3 Bilstein HD Rear $330.00
4 Sway Bar Kit (includes all hardware) $389.00
5 Negative Camber Plates $80.00
6 Strut Bearings $256.00
7 Strut Brace (injection only) $225.00
8 Spring Pads Front $91.22
9 Spring Pads Rear $137.36
10 Control Arms $250.00
11 Strut Rod Bushings $101.40
12 Tie rods (all) $463.00

Thanks to all for information and participation! I'm sure we'll be chatting when we get around to the installation...

Buy all new perch rubbers while you are at it.

Thanks Pamp! Now that I think about it, this is going to add up...shocks, bushings, away bars... does anyone have a comprehensive to-do list with parts #s for a basic suspension upgrade?

Pamp, are you ever in the L.Mainland with your CS?

The car pictured in the photo was mine. I parted with it about two weeks ago after 22 years of ownership.

That being said it took many tries to get the suspension and stance correct.

I suggest you do all of the items below and do not skimp. It does get expensive but it is worth it and once you are taking it apart you might as well go for it.

Do the following items.

#1. Carl Lowering Springs
#2. NEW Bilstein HDs
#3. Suspension techniques/Carl Nelson sway bars
#4. offset camber plates (from La Jolla) for the front suspension
#5. new ball bearing rotating bearings for the top of the front shock towers
#6. front tower support bars
#7. new rubber on top and bottom of the rear springs
#8. new rubber on the top and bottom of the front springs

While you are at you might as well do the front A-arms and steering components.

This really does make the car ride great and handle amazing.

Good luck!

Shawn

mh...Nope,
Get pretty nervous driving in metro areas in my worst of cars. Brought the car up from CA in 2006 and it hasn't left the island since. Used to drive the car a lot more than I do now, but that was about $10000 ago. Nowadays very much paranoid, too many fools about who wouldn't know the difference between a Ferrari and a Fiero, distracted soccer moms and the like who give no yield.

I'm in for the lot. Looks like I'll have another winter project, just when I thought I was done.

I like your car. Where are you located? Looks familiarly Canadian!

Bumperless look really shows off the beautiful shape of the design.

Please give Ben an email to put in your order. I'm going to email him tomorrow and give him the final list.

Thanks,

Marcos

Thanks Marco. It's a work in progress. Still need to find a steering wheel. I'm in the lower mainland too. Sending Carl an email tonight to let him know I'll take one of the lowering kits.

Dave, what car are those front seats out of ? They look pretty comfortable (are they) and the vertical pleats seem to match up fairly well with the look of an early coupe’s back seat. Thanks ~ John Buchtenkirch
