I reported that my tach was not working in an April post. I ran a wire from the negative side of the coil to the green wire post on the tach. I determined that the green wire was the correct wire from looking at wiring schematics in my repair book. Still no tach. I even added a new ground, still no tach. So, I asked AI "BMW Bavaria Tach not working". It came back with an article from a 2002 forum stating that the green wire on the tach was the power supply source from the fuse. There was a brown/ground wire going to the tach so that left the middle wire/connection. I unplugged the middle wire and plugged in my wire from the coil and viola; I now have a working tach after many years of it not working. I was so excited I told my wife, who smiled.
