As you can see, I have three of these. Two are aluminum, one US spec and rather dented up with six extra holes, one Euro spec with the foglight cutout in very good shape, the third is much heavier and chromed, it is in excellent condition. I’m sure there is some eye rolling because I have yet to clean any of the parts I have listed. The reason is three-fold: 1) there are just so many things that I am trying to sell that really need to be cleaned that I would rather do it on request (if you are interested in an item but want it cleaned to decide, I’ll do it; 2) When I buy something old, I like to see it exactly as it was so I can get a better judge of whether it has been neglected, doctored, etc.; 3) I like the satisfaction of cleaning something up myself.

I have no idea what these are worth, so I am open to suggestions on what a fair price is among like-minded individuals. Start a conversation or just reply to the post.

Clean before you post pics - before! :D

I have my chrome one listed for $200 but nobody expressed interest. Yours is in nicer condition.

I recommend that you order a little tub of this stuff on amazon.

I knew those pics would get under your skin Markos, but trust me I didn’t do it with that intention! Quick-glo ordered, and in the mean time I have some other concoctions that work pretty well. Looks like it may be a good day to stay inside anyway.

Never had early chromed one, but had spare aluminium that sold on ebay for 50 EUR (part had some surface scratches, but no dents & no additional holes), was sold only after couple months.

Anyone on the east coast...? I have just a few pieces that need re-chroming.... obviously, like it to be right if you're going to the effort in the first place...and reasonably...awesome sounds pretty good...
What should it cost to rechrome just the rear (brass) trim piece, i.e., w/out any repairs?

I just got a brass panel polished and rechromed. There were pits and a few dents removed also. Cost me $130 in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I never liked the USA side lights on my '72 2002 and now my '73 Coupe will have the bumper lights.

Not all Euro Spec cars have the fog light cutout. My CSi was delivered to Palermo Italy in 1972 and was delivered without a rear for light.

Would you happen to know how the chromed brass version came about? Was it an option, a trim line, or only available for certain models or years?

That is just the way they came early on.

Things start to make sense when you factor in cost saving evolution over time. Aluminum instead of chroming. Plastic grille instead of aluminum. Black wipers instead of chrome/stainless.

Good morning,
I wanted to check in to see if the heavier chromed panel was still available. I have a 73CS and am in need of a replacement panel (license plate lights are long gone, and the 6 extra holes look awkward). If needed, I could PM with additional information.

Thanks!
