Are there and fuel or brake lines in that general vicinity under the car in the trans tunnel area? A friend is going to weld and I am going to lie on a creeper with fire extinguisher and wet towel just in case. Wondered if anyone knows? Thanks.

should be fine.
fuel lines are under door/rocker (passenger i think)
and brake lines are in lower driver side of tranny tunnel, but should be clear.

good idea being underneath w/ the fire toys...better safe than sorry

Welding concerns

I assume this is a MIG welding job. Cover everything in the interior you can to protect from flying sparks. An old blanket or even heavy plastic drop cloth should work. Basically you want to catch the sparks of molten metal on something other than your interior.

This is also a concern if you are doing something like floor repairs and do any grinding. Keep sparks off glass too. Voice of experience speaking here.....

........I'll second that note about keeping sparks off the glass..
...sparks/molten metal pits the glass, speaking from experience.
