Looking at an 87 535i, with an automatic, and was told all of the autos had LSD....curious about LSD compatability with an e9, and what the ratio might be. 240K miles. Thoughts? Thanks.

The 535 will have 3.25 rear gears and not necessarily an LSD. It's not going to fit in an E9 as it is a rear loader, not a side loader.
The only compatible diffs are: E9, E3, E12 (early 5 and 6 series), thru 7/1981.
