Anyone seen this b-pillarless Mazda coupe before or know anything about it? Text says it was a project started in 1961 and came about a few years later.

Giugiaro design. They made about 1000 of them, but the production car looks more like a cross between this prototype, a Corvair, and the early coupe/hatchback RX’s.

Any photos of the finished product. Can certainly see the Corvair.

Best to google images for Mazda R130 Coupe, b/c it evokes very different designs depending on the angle of the pic. Some look like traditional 70s Japanese cars & others look more European inspired.

Right you are Jay. Just looked and some angles are so coupe-like while in other photos the coupe disappears entirely and it becomes a two-door Corvair. Then saw a Mazda Luce four door. Some angles it looks quite Bavaria-like, others like so many Italian four doors. Interesting.
