This looks like a really great car. I skimmed the previous sale ((BAT), and I think the commentary was overly harsh. It was well bought.

one think that irks me about BAT is the huge amount of uninformed expert opinions. But I guess that comes with the BAT package.

Here is how I read BAT comments
I was always led to believe
Means “ I don’t have actual knowledge to contribute, but enjoy being part of a non-value-add conversation.”

Thread hijack:
low compression US motors could not handle that much carb
DCOE’s can be “choked” and jetted to fit a wide range of displacement and engine mods. A 40DCOE can be choked down to 28mm or opened up to 36mm ( 65% range). I have a pair of 40DCOEs on a 1.3liter 4 banger and it makes amazing power. And they worked just as great on my 2liter M10. It’s all in the tuning

a US spec 3.3 (~8:1 compression) with … triple Weber 40s. … but not a lot of ummmph
had the same setup w a stock cam + Stahl headers and it had enough torque to lay rubber 100ft long all day (albeit 1989’s 207/70R14 tire tech). The curse of DCOE’s is their tuning flexibility means many setups are mistuned tuned for intended use. Our local vintage race shop found over 20% more power on a “professionally setup” race motor by tweaking the DCOE’s tuning (dyno results). I found a similar improvement on my professionally setup E9 by adjusting the carb tuning (38/38s).

Back in town, bump!
Eddie, good luck with the sale. If I didn’t already have an E9, I would be tempted to fly out and try your car. Love the overall choices/setup, which seems to emphasize driving. Would look much better with a CSL style front spoiler and a new front exhaust heat shield.

Thanks John, it's been great for me, no issues.
Not sure if I have the temperament to tolerate all the BAT nonsense....
Virtually any time you sell a car, you have to be prepared to put up with nonsense. The only way to minimize it is to pay someone to sell it for you (consignment).

Thanks for the inputs.
Consignment, and BAT would only raise the ultimate cost to the buyer,
and the Hemmings Auction seems unproven to me.
For now I'll keep my ads on the internet, and enjoy the car until the right next owner finds it....

You can advertise on Hemmings w/o going through their auction.

Think you had it on ebay once, right? If not, try there since there, it is seen by millions of peeps.

Looks like the same price to me on the Hemmings ad as well as here, unless I'm mistaken. Magnificent car. Your upgrades should have put the car in the mid-6 second range 0-100km, no?

I saw it's up for sale on Ebay now - if that's still you Eddie - good luck with the sale!

Cheers
