Strange that it only has one flat side. The outer and inner threads both seem to have the same diameter/thread?
I'm guessing the "nut" part is to be mounted against a (or two) flat surface and the outer screw should serve as a mounting point for something else. But I don't have a clue for what.

good you were skiing yesterday.
today high winds, 50-80 mph. Lift chairs will occasionally be on wind hold throughout the day at higher elevations.

I’m not familiar with the yahoo search engine..... that’s from the 1970’s?
Maybe try the new one- google?
