Original E24 Dogleg 5 Speed Close Ratio Gearbox.

Getrag 265/5 First Gear left Under!

I was told it was in good condition, however I did not test it myself, no play on input shaft which is a good sign. Engages in all gears, turns in all gears 5th gear has 1-1 ratio which confirms that this is indeed a Dogleg . Offcourse with mechanical speed input, I do not have the gear box mount but that can be bought new at BMW. Or make your own.

Removed from a early E24, may also fit E12/E9. I have the M30 bellhousing aswell but not pictured.

Why is this the "Ultimate upgrade"? Sure, it is more rare than an overdrive one. But unless you are building a track car, for a Grand Touring like the coupe, to me it makes little sense unless you really enjoy the sound of your engine screaming at 4 or 5 grand for hours on end on the freeway.

How about "A somewhat rare option for those with specific transmission needs"?

But, low profile tires on 16" wheels are GT? Using freeway and GT in the same sentence? Auto trans might be the way to go for you guys... Name the great driving roads of the world and tell me where an OD trans out of an e 23 is the way to go?

Regardless of where you live, it usually takes some distance to get to those great driving roads like Hwy 1 on the California Coast. That where the 265\6 earns its keep!
