I've done a search and found no good reference for removing the wooden door trim near the top of the driver's door. I've removed the door card and all the stuff needed to get it off, but can't see a way to remove the wood. I have one very small portion of the wood that needs to be refinished, and want to do that with the wood off the car.

Any suggestions on removal procedures are greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,

Gary,

after you remove the door panel (which includes the arm rest, door handle, vent window knob), then you have to remove the metal door cap which includes the wood ... after removing the screws, you work it back and forth until it comes off. once off, you simply remove the screws from the back and you have the wood piece.

the rear windows are similar - remove the rear seat + armrest. lower the window slightly - so you can gain access to the small fastener at the top, remove the other screws and remove the metal cap. then remove the screws from the back side.

OK I’m stuck looking for more screws behind the felt. I really think I got them all but still seems fastened up at the vinyl and brightwork at the windowsill. Are there screws at the door ends or maybe the window is hiding screws? 7E944B58-B1E0-4FD8-9365-FDD7860A788C.jpeg4EECF530-8661-4565-ADA4-4A6C4E83D510.jpegE0C094ED-468B-41D4-A058-06F9FB85323C.jpegF7479E17-A7E7-437E-BBD5-362E33703717.jpeg

Lucked out, the last person just pressed them in place with no fasteners. Once I realized that they lifted right out. Off to Madera tonight.

Assume you replaced the entire wood piece. Where did you find the wood? I have a strip that is bummed up pretty good?

I just sent it all to Madera Concepts. Others more skilled or more ambitious than I have made their own pieces.

I just finished re-veneering mine today. I had to get mine wet and clamp them flat to straighten them. Then I sanded and used a tigerwood veneer.
