I have 76 3.0si USA

Occasionally, after starting I will stall out...usually, this is because I don't give it enough gas immediately after starting. The difficulty happens when I try to restart it right after stalling. It turns and turns, but has a tough time catching.

You shouldn't have to give it a lot of gas, since that is determined by the FI, not the gas pedal. First stop is CSV. The easiest way to check it is swap it it out for a known good one. Next to check is vacuum leaks. Could be weak spark. There are a lot of possible things, you just have to start eliminating.

someone else I talked to was also saying it's probably the CSV malfunctioning and flooding the engine...thx!
