Hi guys. My friend and I are in the midst of restoring 3 E9s for the past 5 years and the person (old school BMW tech) that was working on them can no longer work due to health reasons. All 3 cars have had their body works, paint, with engines, gearboxes, and suspensions installed back with some electrical works. Looking for someone to take over the assembly and get them to finish line. Please contact me with any advise or referral in Dallas area.

Hi Daddybear - I presume you know this is a tall order. Many of the people with the expertise to do your work are "old school" meaning they are well into retirement, and just as your old school BMW tech is running into health issues, many of them are as well.

As I understand it, the old school guys who know these cars who are still active in the business have a staff and facilities and a multiyear backlog of work. And most of them want to work in their shops, not yours.

You might get in touch with Terry Sather in Austin, TX. He may know someone.
