E24 6 series have the same size hubs, so that is not a problem. However, you need to know the rim width and offset.

Generally, 7" width is about the most you want for the front, with around an 11mm offset (Usually expressed as ET11 on the wheel). Even if wider wheels fit, they will stick out beyond the fender lip. In the rear, you can put 8" width, usually with 24mm offset.

I am planning on using 215/55 on all 4 rims these rims are 7 inches wide. I am yet to get the offset on the rims. Would you suggest any other tire size for these rims?

Tire sizes?

What diameter wheels?
If you have 15" rims, get 215/60 tires
If you have 16" rims, get 205/55 tires
