Nearing completion and lots of small tasks to do.

When my car was sandblasted the small Karman ID plate below the door hinge was partially blasted. I have a new plate however I don't know what type and size rivet it is that holds it in place, if I can drill out the old rivet and what tool to use to re-rivet the plate back into place.

Thanks for any input.

Hey Gaz, seems like they are not actually held in with rivers but rather with small metal pins as discussed here

Cs Werk previously supplied them with the name plates. Similar alternatives should be able to be sources locally if you have the hole dimension.

Thanks Frankie. My plate came from W&N and without pins so now I need to find them. So I presume I can just prise out the old pins?

Decades ago I bought the rivets from a 356 Porsche parts supply shop, Gary Emory's Porsche Parts Obsolete. The 356 uses the same plate as the CS.

356 Porsche supply shops are pretty scarce in these parts. They are hammer drive rivets or hammer drive screws. Readily available on the net.
