thats what is next to the welting next to the inner door bottom alum trim.

Yes... carpet on one side of it....stainless sill plate on the other. I didn’t know what to call it.

that is not what it looks like for an E9
It comes with the part that goes over the door, on the E9

It’s for an e3. Since I don’t have any at all or have ever seen them in person , this is what I found online. Thinking that this must be what it looks like.
