Turn signal gremlin

All, I've searched the archives for related problems but can't find the source of my electrical woes. Basically, the 4 exterior turn signals work on the outside but the interior dash indicator lamp and sound does not, at least not after the first flash. When you press the hazard flashers, you get all 4 signals working plus the dash indicator lamp and sound. So voltage is not sufficient at some point? I've checked all bulbs and the rear taillamp brass connectors for corrosion, but to no avail. Anyone with similar experience? Thanks in advance, Wayne

The contacts of your turn signal relay are dirty and need to be cleaned or replace with an electronic flasher unit.

From the 2002FAQ, '02s and E9s have the same blinker relay.

You may have a case of 2) or 4). 2) is more likely but 4) is more fun.
