It is time to wax and detail the 2008 VW Rabbit, and unlike the E9/24 part of the fleet, it has relatively large parts made out of plastic (front/spoiler, grill area, and the whole rear piece around and below the hatchback). Are these parts painted and in need of waxing to protect the paint, or are they just plastic made matching the body color and there is no point in waxing them?

If its painted it can be waxed like the rest of the car. If its not painted (color is in the plastic), there are probably better ways/products to protect it. Its been a while since I've dealt with that.
