Hello all,

I am looking for an auxiliary air filter for my 1974 3.0csi - the one in my car looks nothing like what is in the (online) manual.

I assume there is a metal canister and paper filter – does anyone have one to sell or any suggestions on where I can buy?

Thanks

Peter

Hi Peter, I assume you are referring to the filter canister that clamps to the Auxiliary Air Slider/Valve ? ...if so , it is NLA . I suspect your car has an aftermarket filter "pod" which is not uncommon alternative solution. If something else, maybe a part number or photo might help. Cheers, Simon

Hi, thanks for the replies. Yes I have a 'pod'. I guess my question is - how do I know if the aftermarket filter is letting the same amount of air through as the elusive original??

Did anyone find a replacement air filter canister supplier, I guess not?
My canister has come apart, something to do with me and a screw driver, so I need to replace or repair it.

Any suggestions how to replace the paper element and put back the end plate? As the air flow is small and this is only during warm up I am not too concerned about air flow restriction, more about filtering effectiveness. What do we think about a foam insert like my old two stroke motorbikes had mounted under the seat? How hot do we think it gets in this area after warm up when there is no air flow through the filter. My current paper element looks both dirty and blackened, but it is 45yrs old.

Last option is a mini paper and wire pod style filter like a small race filter.

Hey guys,
After seeing the need for the filter cans and having remembered that a friend has a couple of them, I asked him for pics which I’m posting. If you are at all interested please let me know. He wants 40 € each plus mailing which can’t be much, they are small and light.
If interested, I’ll give you the contact directly for him to get paid, via PayPal too and for him to mail directly.

Thank you all for looking, Steve in the UK has bought both of them.

Seems to me it’s easier to sell others‘ parts than my own!
