Hi there

I am looking for a project. Since Canada is frozen and my E3 is well sorted, I am looking for another project. I think refreshing a M30B35 engine would be a fun project and nice upgrade too. My current engine runs real nice...however ;) . Based on Forum posts too the M30B35 is a affordable replacement engine. I will continue to use carburetors (maybe side drafts) and may move to electronic ignition these engines come with...maybe. A long block may be adequate too as I could transfer peripherals from my M30B30 to the M30B35.

Let me know what you have?

Thanks,
Bill

Maybe? Plate says 535i:

Debaged. You want a 735:

142K miles. Can test the engine. Can use the full harness. Don’t need to ship. If you can get it down to day $3,500-$4K, ask yourself if it is worth it.

Thx Markos! Looking for just the M30B35 engine.

HI
How does this one look? Any concerns visible to those who know what to look for? What is up with the alternator? It looks to have a 'hose' connection.

You won’t use that Alt or the oil filter can. They key is what year is it? Thru around 88 they still have the passenger side motor mount bosses on the block.

It looks like the tag says '91. 94,000 kilometers?? Unless there's a hole in the block I'd probably jump on that.
I got engine mount conversion plates for my '92.
*edit- also, I did leak down tests on various engines I was considering.
