i have these on my car. my motor mounts are badly worn so i had to ding one of the tubes to fit. they are nice and polished stainless looks nice until they turn brown from heat. Its a wiring mess right now. I decided to go megasquirt.20210106_174836.jpg

What brand headers? Who’s doing the wiring on the stand alone ECU?
these are the schmiedmann tubes. i am doing the wiring on my own i decided to go with megasquirt ms3x version. it is overkill but i will have more options in the future. the ignition half is all figured while i had the carbs on just waiting on the delivery for the TPS sensor for that i decided to try to make one from a miata work.

I did get a reply from Scmiedmann, and they mentioned they need a little work to fit. Sounds like a hammer will do.

Someone should put together a workshop on the mega squirt. I know the Mercedes forum guys had meets and go over technical issues and fixes. I never attended, and I’m not sure they are still a thing. So cal has enough coupes to pull this off. I’ll bring the coffee :)

do you have a thread on the mega squirt?

I put the Schmiedmann's on my car. They arrived with one incomplete weld that I needed to have fixed. Then they didn't fit...... Had to have the rear most tube cut, bent inward, and rewelded, and a notch cut in the frame rail to get sufficient clearance for both installation and engine movement on the mounts (new). Not sure what M30 model these were designed for, but it's not the e9. They do have two bungs for an O2 sensor that I used to tune in the Weber 38/38s, but there was only sufficient clearance to get to one of the bungs. Overall they do look pretty, but not a drop-in solution.

when did you buy yours? i purchased mine march 2020 and didnt have frame issues or incomplete welds. but, yes it does exit funky and i had to tap one tube slightly to clear the steering i think it was a pitman arm? my motor mounts are very shot though.
