Problem: The wire that pulls the hooks on each side has ruptured at the proximal end. How do I get access to the inner part of the lever and replace the wire?

The back cushion and the plastic wall behind it seem to be attached to each other with glue(?) - nothing is coming loose after all the screws on each lateral fascia have been removed. Trying to separate them with force has so far not been successful. Studing the xray-drawings of the seat leaves me non the wiser...
Someone must have encountered this problem before! (The same mechanism seems pretty saggy in my other e9)

Solution:
Pull off the black plastic knob on the lever of the release mechanism. Takes some effort and patience, be sure not to ruin the plastic shield in which the lever slides up and down. Remove remaining fragments of old wire, thread the new wire in position from below and attach. Be sure to eliminate slack in the wire before tightening lock screw.
