Looks good, but those rockers and front floors sure look suspect:

And strange that is has its 73 front bumper but an earlier rear bumper, perhaps indicates a rear hit and replacement parts.

If anyone is serious about this car and the owner is not on the board (which I'm guessing they are not or they probably would have mentioned it), I'll bet a dollar to a donut that Carl Nelson and Co. at La Jolla Indpt. would have some intimate knowledge about this vehicle. Might be wise to contact them about it. My favorite coupe color combo, too bad a slushbox. I wish I had one (an auto) on my '75 Ford F-250 Highboy, but not on a coupe. I'm sure this will be another fun one to follow.

No comment on overall car but this is a bit atypical. Not a common rust area.

Looks better than most to me. Alpina wheels on an automatic are a bit out of place. The fact that he drove it only 300 miles in 20 years is a good thing since it appears this car lived in Portland OR for all that time. Of course it has rust, they all do. Just a matter of where and how much.

The steering wheel has the famous Pep-Boys Vinyl cover--a true custom touch for only $7.99 back in the day.

There are true Alpina wheels, BMW fps wheels which are very similar, and the e12 BMW fps turbine wheel which has raised ridges on the spokes and a very rough casting.

My guess is this car moved with its owner from OR to CA, and despite an "ignition" overhaul they can't get it to pass CA smog ... miles may be original given the statement that the owner drove it 300 miles in 10 years.

well there must be another reason then ... why would you take an OR car to CA and then try to sell it with the OR plates? OR to CA is more than 300 miles so he had it trailered there. That's $1000 at least.

My car is this car's VIN twin, well +1, so it was probably in the factory at the same time. Curiously, the original specs are identical with just the sunroof being the only difference. If the owner is on the forum, I'd be curious to know where the car is going.
