guys - i was looking up some bumper parts and i ran across this listing for the mounting ends for a '73 front bumper - 51111823147 + 48. i thought i remember reading that these were NLA. (was i remembering incorrectly - or are they back?) Penske lists them as available for 16.79 each.

another question - does anybody know how to tell the difference between a 73 end section of the front bumper vs. the pre '73 ends?

As far as the 73 only rubber spacer pads are concerned, I believe they have always been available and pretty cheap at that. Don't believe they have ever been on NLA status.

Pre 73 bumper ends. The mounting bracket lies deeper within bumper and it has more pronounced bends than the later unit.

1973 only bumper ends. As the below pic shows, the bracket bends are softer and less abrupt than the pre-73 bumpers, with the welded on mounting brackets now more flushed with the bumper edges. This was done to accommodate the "new" spacer pads.
