Northern California had a good sized late winter storm yesterday with snow above 3000 feet. An hour before the snow was to hit, we decided to escape a day early from our 4,300 ft elevation cabin on Highway 49 above Downieville. On the way down in the pouring rain we saw what was probably a BMW CCA drive with fifteen or twenty modern BMWs going uphill. The surprise was to see that trailing car was a Polaris E9. I wonder who the brave soul was?
