Hello,

I was wondering if there's someone who can verify if underneath gearbox would fit on my 3.0CS engine.
I would like to change from an automatic gearbox to a 5-speed.

The gearbox is coming from a BMW 635 E24 Year: 1980 (with tacho)
Gearbox numbers: 262.0.510.00 Code: Code 05847 ЕО

I know I will need to change my drive shaft for this.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Jens Vandenberghe

Yes it will fit. Correct gear box but there’s plenty of other parts you’ll need to complete the swap. There are plenty of write ups with detailed info as this swap has been done umteen times.
But once done, it will be a tremendous difference to the slush box! You’ll love it.

Where is the best place to have a drive shaft shortened to fit the 5 speed?
By best, one of my criteria is closest to Grand Junction CO, but not essential
And a place that will redo the U joint and new carrier bearing

Will this bell housing fit my E9 engine or do I need another one? What do they mean by late style bell housing?
Thanks in advance!
