BMW unveils flat logo in first rebrand for two decades

Heritage German car manufacturer BMW has revealed its first logo change since 1997, featuring a minimalist, flat design and transparent backdrop.

I wouldn't read too much into this. It's on a concept car, the i4, and we all know what THAT means. Look at that giant front grille. Its size has been ridiculed by the common folk and the automobile experts alike. Concept cars are just that. They are marketing hype. In this case its BMW's attempt at slowing down the demand for its competitors in the BEV segment, primarily Tesla, Daimler and VAG.

I saw an article that said the new logo won't go on cars, but will be used for merchandising and a lot of other things. Cars will keep the roundel with the black background.
