I have read all the threads, now totally confused. Just installed new old stock water pump, and want a simple fan upgrade. I have a good nine blade that is bold on, what and where do I get the part?
thanks

Which pump did you buy? The earlier one with the nose piece that holds fan with a single nut or the new style that has a spin on nut behind the fan?

I will have to check, it is out at my shop, bought many years ago as a spare, just like original I am replacing. Flat surface with 4 threaded 10mm holes
Thanks for the help

That pump holds the original friction clutch and five blade fan, or, the first gen viscous clutch mounted on a nose/extension which holds the clutch/fan with a mounting nut/bolt on the front of the fan.

you alrady have the parts but you could sell them here and
upgrade to the s34b36 water pump
and the adjoining fan

I went on BavAuto and found an upgrade kit. Showed up and had the 9 blade fan, viscous clutch, and an adaptor.
