Hood torsion spring holder refurbishment

Hello e9 Freunden,

Today i made a modification/refurbishment to my hood spring holder. The soft aluminium holder was worn out, resulting in loss of torsion in opening the hood.
First I made the opening approximately 2,5 mm lager. In the opening I made a stainless lining.

In the meantime I bought another e9. Also that car needs some work. So time is the problem.
I did some research if it is possible to sell parts to the USA. Very difficult .

What I can do for you is to draw a drawing of the stainless insert. The only thing you must do is to enlarge the opening.

What I can do for you is to draw a drawing of the stainless insert. The only thing you must do is to enlarge the opening.

I have made an drawing of the stainless steel lining. You can bent it around the torsion spring (6,5 mm). The opening in the aluminium holders must be enlarged by filing or grinding with 1 mm (totally 2 mm)
