Ignition back switch fit issue

I’m having a heck of a time fitting the new plastic shrouded ignition back switch. The black portion of the new cylinder seems too wide to fit where the old flush metal cylinder f before. Has anyone figured out a work-around?
I already snipped off the small tab, obviously leaving the one with the hole in it to line up the set screw, but it won’t go in far enough!
Thanks for any tips.

Is this for an e9? If so, that switch doesn't look like the correct one...Carl Nelson has the correct ones

There are also two types of the electric side of the switch (pictured) they have different offsets and are not interchangeable.
The second picture doesn't appear to have the locator pin the first one does?

Agree but that plastic switch looks like neither. The correct switches both look like the OP's original switch with the only difference being the small locator tab clocked to a different position.
I think that plastic cased switch is incorrect...
