Manual window retrofit?

Has anyone retro-fitted their E3 with manual front windows? I've repaired my power windows a few times, only to find them stop working again, and long for the consistency of reaching over and winding the damn things up or down!

I have a '76 3.0Si with the bank of 4 switches on the driver's door, which I know bring up one question: what to do with those switches? I'd keep all of the power stuff in case my restoration demands it one day, but for now, I'm over it.

what keeps failing?
have you considered a universal power retrofit?

Unless you have a parts car to cannibalize, i think it would be hard to find all the parts to do all 4 doors with manual parts
