Following up on my earlier thread "Intermittent Sputter and Die", I found that my ignition switch had disintegrated in the housing in the steering column.
My car is a 1/73 build date. RealOEM listed the switch as part # 61321366107. I purchased one and got around to installing it today.
The new switch that arrived was slightly different than the one that came out of my car. I duplicated the wiring pattern of the black plug that goes into the dash and hooked up the battery.
Immediately heard the hazard switch clicking and went to turn it off- the horn sounded.
I put the key in the ignition and turned to ready- the horn sounded and would not turn off. Pulled the battery.
Although I have everything duplicated old to new color to color, is it possible something has changed on the new switch or could this be another gremlin to chase down?
