Exceedingly scarce 5mm Glaverbel CSL windshield, NOS. Parts number 51 31 18 19 629

It will fit any e9, but being a unicorn, should really be used on a no-stories restoration or museum piece. If anyone knows of another available, please advise.

Realistic offers entertained.

Possibly an auction site for such rare item -- but much easier to use word-of-mouth I guess...

Hi Gerrit, unfortunately no seal. Like the glass, are any even available? It will require a custom extrusion, which isn't difficult to get.

For my understanding, did all CSL’s came with this kind of windshield/brand mark? And what is the CSL thing about it? Is it thinner than a standard CS windshield?

To answer your questions: No, not all CSLs were fitted with thinner 5mm glass, but all factory competition CSLs were equipped with them.
Most of the "stradtpaket" CSLs (including 500 UK market cars) came with standard E9 glass, while on many of the remainder it could be specified (and Plexi as well).
Tellingly, the part number is the same as that for Glaverbel Porsche 911 RS windscreens which were installed only on lightweight cars, not Tourings.

FWIW, there were far fewer lightweight CSLs produced than 911RSs.

It's truly a unicorn... the only one I've known of in 30+years. And as an early 911 guy I'm aware of only three RS screens being available over those same 3 decades.

Shouldn't BMW Classic or W&N be interested in such a Piece?
