These are getting hard to find. Almost nothing carries over from the e3 also.

@halboyles,

Whatever you do, don’t zinc coat the wiper splines. They are made from pot metal or whit metal (whatever) and will dissolve in the bath.

They are actually pressed onto an inner splined shaft. You can remove them with a battery terminal puller, but that could result in your wipers flying off down the road. Some folks drive a pin through them.

Very interesting. I've always wondered why they used such soft metal in the mechanism.

I believe the wiper blade pins are chromed steel. If any of the chromed finish is shot, then I believe that underlying finish will get compromised in the dip.
