They're "door brakes" Tony ...known part to fail . W&N have replacements but I have had a few minor "issues" with the fitment . Suggest you use the search function as this has been discussed extensively . No doubt others will chime in . Simon

Search for mercedes benz replacement. The mb version is near identical, cheap, bolt on and the consesus on being the most logical replacement. The mb partnumber is somewhere on this site

If you have an old euro in the wrecking yard, you might be surprised at what you could hack and cobble together in a pinch. Old school pre internet cave man techniques.
Could you,please let me know the msrmnts of the part under THE thumb. And the basic dmnsns of the rectangular housing.?
