ZF 3 Auto Service Question

It was established, in an older thread, that my 2800 has a Z3 automatic in it. Also that the fluid to use is Dexron. I want to ask the panel if anyone is aware of a source for the filter and pan gasket other than the only one I could find that is on eBay. It’s $150 or so.

I believe it’s a ZF 3HP20. That’s what I see on RealOEM for the full year of 1969. Is there a way to ID it by looking at it?

also the operator manual indicates it is the 20

Don’t think there is any meaningful difference in the two. The filter is metal which can be washed, so just get the gasket.

Ok, not sure if this helps but here goes - I currently have a ZF 4 speed being re-sealed and the person re-sealing it was told that the gasket set for a ZF 5 speed is a superset of the ZF 4 speed. I don't know if they have tried it yet but if getting that gasket is cheap enough or if you can return it, it may be a cheaper way to go.
