Yes, he has a Ferrari 250LM, which is 20-50x times a BAT CSL. One of my all time favorite designs.

No problem. Bat’s are for sale all the time. Hold out for the next one with prettier floor pans. :D

My point was-what is the rest of the car like if minimal effort went in to the most important part!
Silly comments are really not needed!
I was being constructive and trying to point out potential problems with a top price car.

If somebody buys this car and it turns out to be a polished turd, and then needs a 150k concours restoration. It’s suddenly not such a bargain after all.

sorry , what's the "real" difference between a "Bat" and a CSL ?
About 150k.

Kidding aside, Batmobiles are rarer, I think all had alloy doors, but then again needed a steel trunk lid to support the heavy wing. The wing kit is more closely identified with the racing version. The wing kit was illegal in Germany so they came in the trunk, uninstalled, when the cars were sold new. Adds to the mystique.
Later Bats were bored out t0 3.2L.
Later Bats came in some garish colors, as opposed to the silver or white of the early ones.

All restorations are not created equal. In my experience, cars that are displayed at the BMW Classic stand at a show are not always the nicest examples. So the fact that this car was picked by BMW to be shown at the 100th Anniversary doesn't mean much.

Quite right Barry,
110Bats in the 2275xxx series and 57 in the 4355xxx series, respectively know as Series 1 Bat and Series 2 Bat.

It’s a myth that all BATs were light versions with Alu doors and large wings. Many weren’t.

Although the posted Bat appears to have the Bat package from factory.

as if your car had the spoiler in the trunk , because it was illegal, makes it a fortune ? :D

In a perverted sense, yes! And the selected VIN. Whether that makes it double in value, is for the buyer to judge.
The selected VIN BATs which were sold as city pack cars, without the wing and spoiler packages, are now being ‘converted’ by specialists capitalizing on the myth.
