I am helping a buddy search for a Roundie 2002 that needs only a little tweaking. He does not want a project or anything close. I found Lilli, my cherry 1976 2002 on this board when a posted a WTB note about a year ago. Up popped JMinNJ with my wet dream '02. I had special needs, automatic for my wife who can't drive stick anymore, and air conditioning, for both of us living in the NE where the summers break the record of the summer before and so on and so forth.

But I digress. My friend does not need ac and he does not want an automatic. He does want a solid mostly rust free car he can enjoy and drive.

One of my neighbors is about to sell his roundie. PM if interested and I'll put you in contact with him

I've had four 2002s, 3 Roundies and 1 square. The square was the best one, completely rust free before I restored it. I sold it on BaT to buy my e39 M5. I did really well on that car. I kind of miss it but I absolutely love my M5 - so, for me, it was worth it to let it go.

I remember that car, Vince, what a nicely rendered job. What did you have for exhaust...that a nice touch.

Thanks! Yeah, there was definitely some prep on the rear valance panel before paint. The body shop had to weld up the stock exhaust cut out and then cut the opening for the center exhaust (with belveled edges). That plus all the prep to get the euro bumper conversion to look exactly like a true euro car.

This one looks pretty good...

Based on what this carbed 1973 02 (nice but far from perfect) sold for on BAT today, this tii in Oregon is looks to be a great deal.

Chris, looked closely at photos 140, 141 and the ones of the front turn signals. Nasty business when you get close up.
