And now we need to file the Lacy Act form for UPS shipments from Walloth- Ideas any one? Buehler?

Ask me how I know - just like you I had a recent order of some “cheap” rubber parts. In the future I’ll only use W&N for large purchase items where the slight additional fee is only a small percentage or for items that I truly can’t find elsewhere.

Is flying to Germany and loading a suitcase an option? It's basically a 200% markup if you have high count of small parts.

Any other suppliers in the USA anyone can recommend?

Post a list here of the order that you have and hopefully people can suggest some options. Also check the list of suppliers in the FAQ. Rubber trim parts are hard. But check oilsdesigngroup or even max2002store.com
I think that Max’s prices are sometimes higher than they should be, but with the issues above it may still be financially the winner
And yes, flying to Germany and loading a suitcase is definitely an option! That’s what Don does! At some point here I’m going to go visit my Swiss relatives to say hello and stock up on the Swiss chocolate that I can no longer easily have shipped - I’ll be sure to gather a list of items people want and have them all sent to my relatives for me to carry them back to the US.

the good news about buying multiple pieces of one thing - its 1 line item. the downside is that 5 line items for 49 euro shipping / order - may / may not save you money.
Hi everyone, looking to place and order for the first time to W&N for about 30 parts for my 2800cs, trying to get her back on the road. Mostly trim pieces and few brake and suspension parts.
let us know what you are looking for, might have or know where else you can buy from. buying from CS-Werk is great, BMW-oldtimerteile can be good ... buying things from @TomHom is good for used / reconditioned parts. i highly buying as many things from @alprada70 (Oils Design Group) as you can. great products.

i have had good luck buying from Getbmwparts.com (buying from a dealer) and getting reasonable discounts. OEM stuff i buy from RM European, FCP Euro and AutohausAZ. you should spend a little time in the FAQ - top sources ... mind you that was written before tariffs.

Good point about the multiple pieces - it is indeed one line item. Another argument perhaps for some of us to pool together orders if at all possible. Especially with AI dividing out everyone's cost at the end wouldn't be too challenging. But as multiple people have said to me as I've looked at getting some used items recently, "you don't want to end up in the parts business". Amen.

Thanks guys. Here is a list.

L&R Mirrors
L&R Euro turn lenses
F&R Emblems
Sun visor clips/brackets
Exhaust hangers

mirrors, so you want flag or trap? i have a new right side flag mirror. i have a very good one that was on my car for several years (in the paint shop) not new, a little age patina.

exhaust hangers, tell me exactly what you need, i have all of the metal pieces (new). do NOT buy the rubber pieces from W+N, they do not last. order them from getbmwparts.com. here is a thread with the metal pieces

sun visor clips - buy those from LaJolla independent (Carl Nelson) - the brackets (arms?) somebody on the forum was making them.
F+R emblems - just buy from getbmwparts.com

so that leaves euro turn lenses.

Great info above!
Max does have some of these items, but as mentioned above, prices are often a bit higher than through other sources. But if you can't find them elsewhere, this may be better than importing. And posting the link to the E9 items here since in another thread someone said "the store doesn't seem to work" which is the case unless you get to it through one of the links in the emails he sends out - link below.

And edited further to add the link to the lenses if you can't find elsewhere:

Well I am in shipping hell right now with UPS. Ordered a windshield from Walloth. Filled out the paperwork properly as instructed. Thought we were good. Took a while but it shipped with UPS. BTW… shipping costs as much as the windshield. I assumed it would.

Arrives in the US. Notified of customs duty. Paid said duty of $130.

UPS keeps sending emails… out for delivery today… tomorrow… this day that day. All while web site says it in Kentucky??? Now they say they need a commercial invoice? Send them the invoice from Walloth… nope not what we want… what do you want? A commercial invoice. AAAAAAUUUUUGGH!

Of course no one at UPS can answer a damn question… let me transfer you to X department… another department.

Three weeks and counting all while my windshield dude is waiting around for nothing.
Todd - I ordered some parts from Walloth Nesch (a mirror and some e24 bumper strips), and today received a notice from UPS that "Customs requires additional information or documents for clearance. Awaiting information from the customer."

Who is the customer here? Walloth Nesch contracted with UPS to deliver the package to me, so I would think this would make them the customer. On the other hand, under the tariff rules, I caused the parts to be shipped into the US, so I am liable for the tariffs.

In any event, you stated that you filled out paperwork "as instructed." Who provided this instruction to you? Did you fill out something when you ordered your windshield before it shipped?

Someone here included the UPS form… couple pages back maybe. It’s basically a commercial invoice.

Of course after I filled out their stupid form… they sent me an email saying they had everything they needed already.

Did you send the HS7 form to UPS? W&N had sent me a copy that they submitted with my shipment, which of course did nothing. I had received an email from UPS with a link to upload the document

And I’ll just add that I’d suggest you write a letter of complaint to W&N. They seemed to listen to my issue but basically said “hands tied”. They need to hear that many of us are unhappy.

Well, I ordered my 4 E3 door seals from W&N and just got them in. Took less than a week to get here and they had a fixed 15% tariff charge, but had $42 off with a coupon, so it ended up equaling about a 10% tariff. No extra paperwork or hassles. I was expecting some horrible UPS drama. Their tracking system is pretty random, but I'm happy. Also, Max couldn't get the seals on their end and if so, would've been waaaaay more expensive.. Overall cost was lower than Max listed on their site, and much lower than what BMW online parts houses quoted.
Crisis averted this time...pheeew.

I wrote to W&N and they replied that they sent something to UPS.

Today, I received a notice that the hold on my shipment had been resolved. I also received a bill from UPS for $152.96. This is 44% of the total invoice for my parts.

I just fired off a note to W&N. Delivery is supposedly scheduled for today and if I don't pay prior to delivery I am told to expect additional charges.

What a cluster f*ck.

Wtf!? Damn..I’m sorry to hear that. Does it have anything to do with the type of part ordered?

I have found that the charges do not seem tied to the items in the package. The invoices list the HTS codes which should identify the correct tariff but that doesn’t seem to work correctly.

I don't know. There is no detail on how the amount was computed. There is an "additional information" link that takes you to a generic page describing tariffs and various UPS fees. This is a broad ranging description proving an overview of taxes and duties and merchandise processing fees and customs clearing fees and brokerage fees, etc. A lazy, unhelpful shotgun blast of information.

I ordered a right side flag mirror for a coupe (before reading Scott's post above), two front bumper strips for a Euro e24, and a set of 15 fasteners used to install the bumper strips.

I had done a deep dive of tariff/HTS codes and found what I thought the rubber parts would fall under and asked if that would work. Alexander Nesch emailed back that they have fixed codes for their parts that customs knows and they couldn’t switch things…at least they communicated pretty quickly. Still odd that mine went smoothly and others don’t..

@rsporsche - I did the math on that right hand flag mirror Tom Baruch (BMWSKI) bought. With shipping and tariffs - $194. Your mirror is more valuable than you may think.
