E9 2800 CS found in farm in Costa Rica

Hello and welcome! Neat project and enjoy your journey.

Fun to see our examples/specimens left the factory at a similar time being under 600 units apart. I'd wager that it was built in the Fall (November?) of 1969, mine left the day before New Years Eve, 1970. It was Polaris 'then' too and went to Austria.

I like the Polaris over red, curious if original? Mine 'had' tan leather but not sure if it was original as it was 'manipulated' well before I got it.

Suggest a note to BMW classic(?)/factory archives for the factory build/spec info and original dealer/delivery destination.

This board is a tremendous resource with great folks.

Keep on Couping.
Thanks Shanon for the sugestion, i to like the polaris over red, nonetheless i do not think it is original, because by Looking at the badge on the drivers inner door i can tell that it is was originally Chamonix white, and as you say this car was manipulated extensively. My plan is to bring it back to mostly original, because i would like to (after proper sand blasting) repaint it Polaris since IMO this car looks very nice with this color scheme, what do you think?
Do restomods loose value because of a color change? I would also change the badge to read Polaris.
Hello.

If you want to obtain information about the car you have (year of production, version, body color and where it was delivered for sale), please write an inquiry on this matter by e-mail and send the VIN of your car:

[email protected]

You have to be patient because it takes a while before they respond. Once they respond, they will send an invoice for payment.
After paying, you will receive an electronic certificate with information about this specific car with the given VIN number.

Regards.
thank you Lucas, this information is part of what i needed to know, i will email them right away, any idea how much they charge

Great story. Thrilled for you and it looks like a great starting point. I have a soft spot for 2800’s so glad to see another one getting some affection.

Welcome. Looks like our coupes were on the assembly line the same day. 2201984. Us 2800cs owners have to stick together. ;)

That’s fantastic that you write, where do you have yours ? I think im going to be asking you plenty of questions since you most probably have the closest sibling and most likely almost identical car as mine; And as you can see by the following pictures i need plenty of help (especially the locations of all the inner guts of the car).
