Looking for some advice and input from the forum members who may have run into the same issue.

As part of the cleaning and refreshing of the wiper linkage, I succeeded in destroying one of the plastic/nylon bushing on the linkage arm.

I searched the forum for clues and RealOEM but I could not find a part number for the bushing or if it was even available.

The P/N for the entire arm is: 61611810584. However, this is NLA.

W&N shows an image for the entire arm even though it is NLA from them as well. However, the bushings have changed to what looks like a rubber bushing.

I was looking to see if anyone else had run into the same issue and what solutions they came up with?

Thanks for your help.

I reassembled my wiper assembly today with bushings from White engineering (https://wiperrepairs.com/wiper-bushings/) and while not original I must say I’m very satisfied with the result. Tight but good fitting, while the locking clips from the bushing take you some effort to put really in the locking grove (is this correct English?)

The original ones on the long rod are ‘open’ on both sides, these are not. You can make it yourself of course by cutting of the hat. I found that it is not necessary, while it is a little bit less flexible then original because the ball parts have a flat surface on top of it. Despite the flat surface of the ball linkage parts they are flexible enough to move around in the directions it needs to rotate.

@BMW3.0CSi -- which product number did you pick?
You need 3x 12A bushings and 1x 16B. You can ask Noel (from White engineering) for this because this is not a standard set.

In my case I also requested to have only black bushings because it looks nicer (matter of taste) but they also have white bushings which is also partly as original. Mine had originally white and black bushing, white on the long rod and black on the small rod.

Thanks for sharing the great information.

I believe theses bushings are also available on Ebay. Do a Google Search to find them.
I believe the part # is 61611353754.
