Friendly Hello Everyone…..with huge sincere thnx to “cSteve” of Bucks County PA, who told me and helped me get started here AND who posted the 74bavaria for sale Ad for me until my new Acct got confirmed so i could use…anyway, born in 65 to German Dad, swedish mom, I’m JUST old enough to be a little boy in Germany being exposed to all those German cars of 70s (my german grandfather had a GOR-geous brand new either 230 or 280sl in white with navy blue interior, was in early 70s when i met him and i was possessed instantly - wink & smile - and my mom told me years later i had asked then how i can have one of these, the reply was to start saving my Pennie's. Anyway, I’m 59 now (60 in august) and currently have 10 vintage bmws but selling several including VERY nice 1982e24-633csi in HennaRot / black Interior, 5spd, sunroof, everything working & drives great and will be on BaT next week. Also selling the 74bavaria and likely 69e3-2800 and maybe e23-745i all black…currently restoring 76-2002 MintGrun outside of Philly…have 89e30 Touring with e46m3 motor/trans swap…a 76e3-3.0si in Fjord / cream Interior Automatic and my awesome EVERYTHING new e3-3.0si inka / soft black leather, 4sp, multiple bmw award winner and my cover/profile pic ( i bought for 1k flat-bedded across USA and did massive full Resto 4.5years done in 2022)….well, I’m more of a Social guy, attend bmwcca events and others so hope to meet some of you. ANYONE looking for real good Resto spots in Westchester, Hudson Valley or CT, talk to me…i can suggest many real good spots to fix your bmw classics…but exercise your classics (NO garage queens please ! these classics NEED to be driven/exercised routinely…..thomas in westchester Cty NY

Welcome!
Great to see the list of cars and your driving spirit!

We are all fond of pics, so feel free to share them if you want.

Erik.
Ok Erik from Netherlands….I am longtime tennis player BUT not nearly as good as YOUR awesome Richard Krajicek (only in my dreams/sports fantasies did he & I win Wimbledon same year as he won the Singles….wink/smile). Anyway, shaeing pix of the many bmws i currently own but selling a few

I like your blue Series I E3/2800. Based on the tail lights and c-pillar vent, it must be a '69 or '70. Curiously, it has a flag mirror, instead of the original trapezoidal mirror.

Love the E24 also. The E24 trunk has the best looking rear spoiler.

Oooh sincere thank you RBlongboarder (surfer, are we ?! respectful wink & smile). My profile name is essentially what i L O V E to do…..rescue & slowly methodically restore bmws of mostly 70s….but i think now i over-extended myself and now have stress….really ONLY reason why i chose to sell a few but on BaT very soon, my e24 in HennaRot will apear…wonder if i squeeze out mid to upper Teens on it (??) needs nothing, great color combo, 5sp, sunroof, drives great….but also i rescued & already fixed 69e3-2800….was 18th sold in U.S and drives very well….do i sell OR continue to restore ? If someone offers Fair price AND knows how to continue to fix, THAT would make me happy / relieved.

Yes I am a surfer.. and I understand your predicament of having too many cars.

If I might be so bold as to offer a suggestion or two.. first off, I would keep the blue Series I E3/2800.. not too many of those around anymore.

Secondly... I would keep the E24, but perform one modification to it: install Euro bumpers. I once owned an '84 Euro M635CSi and did a full restoration on it. IMHO, euro bumpers are far more elegant that the US Spec bumpers required post '74.

Here's a shot of my former E24 that had euro chrome bumpers:

Wow….THATS exactly what I did with inka e3….euro bumpers…..i have real mixed emotions (more powerful than feelings…lol) about selling e24 and i think will be on BaT with a modest / fair Reserve just to protect myself a bit….sadly dont have big enough “Barn / Garage” space and storage in my area of Westchester expensive…too many wealthy people here…maybe moving to a More Land area in Hudson Valley (along famous Hudson River area, North of NYC area) sincere thank you for your boldness valuable feedback…personally always welcome it….I’m possessed & emotionally governed by vintage bmws….wink/smile

Cool collection you have!

I get the dilemma of downsizing, though as a guy with a small one car garage only here, I consider you to be in a very happy position!
Oh thank you Erik…..still got Mixed feelings on my very first BaT sale..e24….with very fair Reserve set so interesting how this ends up TOMORROW….if not met, maybe just keep for now…..and somehow find cheaper storage somewhere….currently restoring several vintage bmws…76 2002 in Taiga….69e3-2800….82-e23-745 but i think will sell via BaT likely my 74e3 bavaria UNLESS someone wants it before i go to BaT….best wishes to YOU !!

Whoa dude! You listed it:

Good luck with the sale. Dick Steinkamp did really well with his E3 sale last week...
Yeah…i succumbed….but still Mixed feelings…I've done a LOT mechanically to it…drives great, needs nothing….curious as to final bids….do i sell No Reserve my 74e3 bavaria next ? Decided to continue restoring my 69e3-2800…just ordered Dual Webers DGAV and few other nice items …and will continue restoring my 82e23-745 too

It's very difficult to understand someone else's car collection... I suppose if I was in your position, I'd probably want to keep the '69 E3-2800 and the '76 2002. I'd sell the '74 E3-Bavaria and the '82 7-series.. and try to keep the '82 E24.

But, E24's are plentiful, and I'm sure there's another one out there waiting to be discovered. How 'bout converting a E24 L6 from automatic into a 5-spd?

Lol..thnx for your feedback….always wanted e24 and was for sale literally few towns from me 5-6yrs ago but needed work…i love the rescue & restore aspect of vintage bmws….don't think i will get another e24 for a long time even though love e24s...instead restoring others I currently have….very likely you will see my 74e3 bavaria 1st week june (only 948 made in 74 and mine is unmolested unrestored original with 53k orig and good Driver….keeping 69e3 and finishing restored awesome Taiga 2002 (but maybe sell once fully restored in Autumn OR april 2026 )…..my 82-e23-745 will be awesome restored maybe best anywhere and likely via BaT in 2026 (?)…. Anyway, anyone wanting 74e3 bavaria, targeting 1st week June via BaT and if so, likely the HKmotors dealers luckily in my westchester area…but sincere good luck to YOU with everything !

Congratulations! Looks like someone bought your E24 for $15k.
Yes..but not just anyone but rather a serious vintage collector very cool ecletic collection…many euro classics mixed in with nice Americana cars…love his 30s Packard…anyway he bought for his bmw fanatic Son….so looks like off to the right person UNLESS he drives it hard into the ground, sort of speak….final Sale steps still to be made…await BaT and new buyer
