so the floors have had some work already with flat sheet metal, It will fill a gap, but will detract from the value.

Given the rust on front fender and rear quarter I would be very concerned about the rockers and the A & B pilars. There are some guides that will help you to know what to look for.
 
@boonies had the same things to say that i did. this car has some really big bills ahead of it to set it right. buy the best car you can afford ... but i think this one has 50k in bills ahead and that is just the visible things ... and that's after you spend 25k to buy it.
 
If you see the front and rear quarters bubbling like that, I assume that means welding in a temporary cage so you can completely rebuild the structural bits?
