Just got a hold of this 2800CS auto. Stored for over 4 decades. Pretty much dry, minimal rust, but none in major areas. Front needs some bodywork.
Are those seat fabrics original? They don’t seem to have been redone, but never seen that fabric on the bolsters. I know the headrests are wrong.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

would love to know any history you can find out about the car. it was NOT in the ancestry project so its very interesting to me ... and a very early 2800cs. out of curiosity, are the rear turn signals amber or red?

Looks original to me. The auto wooden lever is so subtle, worth keeping in automatic just for that :).

I did not pay attention to the rear lights. I will post a picture. There is nother one that I will post for your ancestry project. I have not seen the owner yet, but it is an one owner car.

We just started the car after rebuilding the carbs. Haven't driven it yet. I am sure it still has the BW tranny, but don't know if it works.

Nice to see a one owner car. I bit of a time capsule; really exiting!

As it is an early 2800, does it have the heavy, chromed metal side grilles on the fenders? And the top grilles, are they shiny chrome on top, and matt chrome on the sides of the fins?

No, plastic and I suspect that could have been changed

I saw a great tranny for sale here I think yesterday that Paul Cain recommended...

Mine has the same problem (rear lights)… original lights fit fine. My mistake on not fitting the replacements. I talked to a buddy of mine who can softly shape them a bit… may not be perfect but it will be better than it is.
