2800 badge

I”m your man. I have a restomod and put a “3.7” badge on my trunk. I have the original 2800 badge in my shed somewhere. I am out of town but I’m sure I can find it. Given that there are two of you looking for it……. what’s it worth? I honestly don’t know but happy to have it on a trunk in lieu of collecting dust in my shed.

Bmwclassicparts has a used one for $100. If you find yours send a picture and if looks good can make a deal.

Yeah sell it to @jbry2800 he asked first.

Also, my car has a 3.0 in it now so maybe I’ll put that on the trunk even though it started life as a 2.8.

It surprises me that some additive manufacturing shop isn't re-making the "2800" badges.

The Maximillian shop has the 3.0 badge, but not the connected CS to go with it. They have the separate C and S that go with the 2800, but no 2800 badge. Go figure

I bought one new about 5 years ago from a business in Europe who remanufactures them. Did I write down the company or remember them? No.
So there is hope, maybe they are made in batches and ya just have to wait

yep, i have been debating about that. since my 2800cs now has a SFDon 3.5L ... the question is whether i put the 2800cs badge on it ... or a 3.5 csi badge. it would be great if somebody made a new, nice 3.5 badge that could be adhesive mounted and look like the stock badge. on the other hand, a nice 2800 cs badge in a coupe with a really hot motor would be nice and understated. but there is not much that is original to the car except the body ... most things have been replaced / upgraded ... and the color certainly isn't 2800 cs.

i guess not, not many people rebuilding a car and then keeping the 2800. refreshing an engine is just as expensive by starting with another 3.0 or 3,5 L unit.
Everything is relative....
I have an M90 in my '70 Coupe, but kept the original 2800CS on the trunk. In fact, I found a NOS badge set from Jamic many years ago (just to have as I figured they may be NLA at some point). I had @sfdon install that new badge when he did the rest of the car.

For me - I like the (kind of) sleeper look having the original badge gives - until you put your foot into it (or hear the exhaust).... Then you know something's up... :)

i have a NOS 2800 c s set of badges, but i don't want to drill holes in my trunk lid ... and i can't bring myself to cut the posts off of a NOS set of badges. for now, i will leave my coupe unbadged. i unfortunately sold a restored 2800 c s badge set that didn't have posts (dumb move on my part). i actually prefer the look of 2800cs badge, but 3.5 csi badge fits the spirit of the car
