Identify this screw/bolt....

Is this maybe the flat-head screw from below that holds the dash tray in place? Not sure how I ended up with one, not three. (....thought it was the under-dash pad from a 2002, but too big..)

Dave, if you want to sell it, I'll buy it. Hard to find, I am missing one for my Bavaria.
 
These are the "cheese head" bolts that hold the bottom cover on the steering column. I'd found a source in the UK years ago and made a bulk order.
 
If @dave v. in nc held up some random Phillips head machine screw and asked what it was, the chorus of responses would have been "that's not a bolt from an E9 or E3". But because it was the correct slotted cheese head original, we get to pontificate not only what it is and where it goes, but who might have a spare and how to get new ones if necessary. What a joyous affair.

yes, i knew what it was because you sent me a pair of these and i have them next to the cover - ready to install when the wiring is ready
